What to do if stalker mods aren't available for download due to broken link

Sometimes the download links do not work and give an error of the following:

503 Service Unavailable
No server is available to handle this request.

Try instead to search on Google for the name of the mod you are looking for. I found out that the file I wanted was still available and downloadable from the file front website, but the link from the stalker files website was broken. This may be because file front has implemented the new "survey-based" free downloads., But stalker files has yet to update the programming code to their links.

You could just try directly searching on file front for the name of your mod.

For example I tried to download from this webpage from stalker files:
http://stalker.filefront.com/file/STALKER_FOV_SWITCHER;101805
clicking " Download from Worldwide Mirror by FileFront Download STALKER FOV SWITCHER! Gave me the previously stated error page. So instead I went on Google search for "STALKER FOV SWITCHER (1.4)" and the 2nd result I got was from the file front website, from which the download worked fine. http://www.gamefront.com/files/11631650

You can also try searching on Google directly for the filename "fov_switcher_v14.7z" and may be results will turn up from file hosting websites or user cloud backups were someone uploaded the file, but may not have given it a proper name.

Replacement Li Po or Li ion batteries on eBay may have been manufactured many years ago and sat in a hot warehouse over the summer months. All 3.7 V Lipo batteries should be compatible., Not necessarily ones that are marketed as PS3 replacement batteries. Consider buying a recently manufactured Lipo battery or from seller that guarantees battery capacity.

You can buy there is Lipo batteries already with a JST connector that fit the PS3 controller JST connector. Alternatively, you can cut the wires to your older battery, leaving in the JST connector to the PS3 controller, and manually tie the cuts wire terminals to the wires of the replacement battery. Use electrical tape, or perhaps normal tape.

CECHZC2H (H) for Hongkong
CECHZC2E (E) for Europe
CECHZC2J (J) for Japan
CECHZC2U (U) for US
CECHZC2A (A) for Australia

Revision is good right? Revision means they fix things and make it better right? Revision means newer battery right lithium-ion batteries deteriorate over time. Newer is better. However, the launch day models could be the best built because the company's reputation is on the line. Later revisions will have reduced cost because the prices of the consul has dropped. All the hard-core gamers already purchased at launch day. The hard-core gamers have the most demanding tastes. They want the best built quality. later on, the casual gamers, who noticed build quality less and use their hardware a lot less, can make do with lesser quality revisions. This is just a theory.

Stopped having to reset my router everyday

I was using a Netgear power adapter for my TP link router. The wireless dropped everyday and I had to reset the router once a day. I started using the original TP link power adapter and the router has been flawless for the past week.

The voltages on the 2 adapters were slightly different. Maybe this caused the router to overheat when the wireless bandwidth was high.

fix samsung :) t-mobile phone pics

good screwdriver for fixing cell phones and small electronic devices with really tiny screws.

got it at homedepot This is a good screwdriver for fixing cell phones and small electronic devices with really tiny screws. The smallest Phillips head fit my cell phone screws perfectly. The cell phone I tried to fix was a Samsung as pictured below and also a 1440 GPS.
The screwdrivers are also really comfortable to handle. My other set was not only 2 big for the screws, but the grip just wasn't right.

My advice to YouTube uploaders TL DR: stop trying so hard bro

My advice to YouTube uploaders
TL DR: stop trying so hard bro

stop trying to sound like the broadcasters on TV. This is YouTube. You don't need to sound like a showman. Just explain the topic and have the upload quality be good so we can see and hear you clearly.

I tried searching YouTube videos on "how to adjust video encoding settings in open broadcasters software " and the 1st 2 videos I closed within 10 seconds of hearing the voice. The uploaders were trying way too hard to sound excited. Just talk to us like your normal person. There's no need to try to be entertaining especially when it comes off as you trying hard to get views, likes, and subscribers.
The video I liked best is in the following link. Notice how the uploader is very calm and natural, being himself. I don't get the impression that he's trying hard to gain the approval of his audience. He's not hungry for subscribers and likes. Instead, I still decided to like his video and even recommended here as an example.

Why is Yahoo answers filled with unhelpful kids...?

Why is Yahoo answers filled with unhelpful kids, mostly 13-year-olds who provide anything except helpful answers.? There are so many trolls on Yahoo answers, that if it turns up in my Google search results, I noticed Skip it. What is it about Yahoo answers that attracts children?

Yahoo answers would be the very opposite of something like Stack exchange, were you can get really helpful thoughtful answers. Yahoo answers is pretty much a cesspool and a disgusting excuse for Internet help form.

Only when I am extremely desperate and after I've exhausted all my other resources, when I even consider visiting Yahoo answers. Yahoo answers needs to get its act together, because it's making Yahoo look like a joke. I guess they are to poor or lack the sensibility to hire some good forum moderators.

These kids really belong in their little chat room which would act as their little Internet playpen, so they don't disturb the productivity of mature Internet users. I hereby renounce Yahoo answers, and deem it "kiddie troll cesspool."

Sanyo MQN06 charger

Sanyo MQN06 charger included in this package only charges in pairs. If you just put in one cell, NOTHING happens. It is a semi-smart charger, meaning that it monitors the combined voltage of two cells, and stops charging when AT LEAST ONE cell is fully charged. This prevents over-charging, but one cell may be under-charged (if you group two cells of different capacities in a pair). Is the MQN06 good enough for your application? IF all your battery-operated appliances use even number of cells, AND you only use idential cells in them, AND you make sure not to mix-up cells from different appliances, THEN it is acceptable to use this charger. Otherwise, get at least one charger that can handle individual cells. For example: Sony Cycle Energy BCG34HRE4KN Quick with Refresh Charger and 4 Pre-Charged 2000 mAh AA Batteries

Eneloops and Tenergy LSD batteries

http://www.candlepowerforums.com/vb/showthread.php?195089-Tenergy-vs-Eneloop-%28AA-and-AAA%29-30-day-self-discharge

I think we all will agree that the Eneloop cells hold a higher voltage during discharge, but all the low self discharge cells seem to work well.

Do eneloops hold a higher voltage longer during usage?

Little reasons that cause me to return my VG248qe back to newegg

Little reasons that cause me to return my VG248qe back to newegg

I preface this by saying that this is an awesome monitor for anyone who is into competitive first-person shooters like counterstrike. 120 Hz, 144 Hz, and most importantly the light boost hack is absolutely astounding. But I'm not enough of a competitive online shooter player to justify using this monitor in the long run.

Number one. The power cord was too thick. Most monitors nowadays have been power cords, attached to power bricks. These power cords are much thinner and flexible. I tend to move my monitor around a lot and the thick heavy power cord, the same type of power cord that you plug your computer AC, felt too clunky for me. But let me say that before you start flaming me, this is a very minor minor minor reason. I still wanted to list this reason however because maybe future monitor designers will take note of my suggestion to implement the dinner lighter power cords.

Of course the power cord itself needs to be long enough to accommodate various relocations of the monitor, for example from the desk to a secondary stand a few feet away. It's a hassle to have to unplug the power and re-plugged to a closer outlet because the cord length is not long enough. In the case of the center power cords with power bricks, you also face the issue of perhaps not getting a long enough cord and having to go online and find a custom compatible cord and perhaps power brick condo. This might be expensive and you may not actually get the link you want. I think there actually may be more options in terms of length that you can buy online for the traditional thicker power cords (the type that you plug your computer's AC).

Now do you see how detailed oriented I am? Yes I have obsessive-compulsive disorder and I pay attention to all the details. I have to restate that the power cord issue is very minor to me but I want to list it anyway. Okay let's move onto the next issue.

Number two. Another very minor issue. The speakers on the monitor were absolutely terrible. Certainly no audiophile could even stand to listen to the speakers. If Asus was going to put speakers that are so bad in quality, they might as well just skip the speaker option and save us some money and weight. I mean they were really really bad. I know I can just hook up extraneous speakers (which is why this is a very minor issue) but sometimes I still like the clutter of not having to use extra speakers and play directly through HDMI on my monitor. This is also why I like to use 32 inch televisions as my monitor because they have much better quality sound. Of course you can use any size television, it's just that 32 inches is a nice size for me. That's what she said, right?

There is also a certain amount of PWM flicker on this monitor. And nights I like to turn off my room lights and then the monitor. The reading text can be stressful on the eyes for those who are sensitive to PWM flicker. Again I think this is a minor issue due to the fact that most monitors have PWM, and the PWM free monitors are quite expensive. But I still want to list this year in case any future monitor designers are reading.

Granted I have also noticed that when you turn down the brightness and contrast on the monitor to very low and also turned down the brightness and contrast in your video card settings for your desktop color, (and/or also in the display color for AMD catalyst users) the PWM is much less noticeable. That is to say, the PWM flicker is much more noticeable on a monitor that has its brightness turned to very low through its own OSD menu while the computer video cards control panel has brightness and contrast on high, compared to the much lower noticeable PWM flicker when the brightness and contrast are set to low through the video cards control panel. That is to say further, it is preferable to lower the brightness and contrast the rear video cards software control panel because this does not affect PWM flicker. Only adjusting brightness duty OSD affects it. I'm not sure if adjusting contrast to the LSD affects PWM flicker as well, but it does seem to affect eyestrain a lot.

Number three. You can only adjust sharpness by increments of 10. I would prefer much finer increments because I actually like adjusting sharpness to my perfect desire for reading text in pictures as well as playing games. It certainly affects the readability of text in regardless of whether you use Windows clear type. The sharpness setting is a very powerful tool on monitors that I don't think enough people employ. Also for certain video games if you set the sharpness on your monitor to high, you be able to notice the textures on the characters and in the environments are much more detailed. This has the same effect as the loom a sharpening filter on the direct X custom filter that you can use for certain games. By the way, this custom filter is called Sweet FX and you can do a search on it and get a free download to make all your direct X games look much better.

Number four. It's a TN panel so the viewing angles were atrocious, but even more emphasized because it's a 24 inches panel. I like to use my monitor both standing up and sitting down. I haven't sent on a pretty high stand so when I sit down, the monitor becomes arguable because the view angle is so bad. This is why I love IPS MVA panels. But of course if you want to achieve such a low response time only one millisecond you have to go with TN for now. The colors were also very bad although for a TN panel, it's probably as good as you can get if you know how to adjust the colors. Of course it cannot match in IPS or VA panel., Even with adjustments. If you search on hard forum there are many people offering free calibration profiles. You can also find some on overclock.net. Out-of-the-box however, the colors were truly atrocious.

Even though you can make the argument that colors don't matter for a competitive player, it still makes gameplay more fun when your game looks vibrant and beautiful. I like to play my games while listening to my favorite music to set the mood. I play games to feel good after all. But when the colors are bad, I don't feel as immersed or as visually stimulated. This is again, why like to play games on my 32 inch TV hooked up to my computer. There are other benefits as well with having such a large screen, wink wink.

power a ps3 pro elite mini controller review

This controller can be plugged into your PC and easily be used and recognized. If you wanted to be recognized as a Xbox 360 controller, hooked up to your PC, you can find a special DLL file on the Internet for free and put the file in your game folder. This will cause games like bio shock or hard reset or Arkham Asylum to automatically detect any Xbox 360 controller. You can also use this mini pro elite controller with xpadder very well.

I can't get motion controls six axis to work on PC using this controller.

The middle PS3 button functions as a extra button that you can program with xpadder. This means you have one more button than most standard controllers. If you plug the Xbox gamepad into your PC, the middle Xbox button will not work. This is another reason I prefer to the mini pro elite controller.
If you turn the controller off without any lights in your room, you'll see that the LED lights for backlighting (will blink very faintly about every three seconds or so. This seems to be the case with both of the units that I've tried. I don't think the trains that much battery because LED lights are very low power consumption (hence all those many Bluetooth earpieces will keep a LED light on despite trying to maximize battery life).

One of my units had a left thumb stick that stopped working after two weeks. It was always recognized as being pointed downwards, even though I wasn't touching it. For this reason I returned the gamepad to target. The second unit that I purchased has blessed me for over a year now with about six hours average daily use.

None of the buttons make any sounds like clicking when pressed. Even the PS3 and Xbox controllers will make a small clicking noise. But the mini pro elite is much quieter. This is good if you're playing at night with the roommate sleeping.

The controller will automatically shut off after four minutes of non-activity. To turn it on you just press the PS3 button and it will sync up with the USB dongle in one second. This is works flawlessly over the hundreds of times I've done this.

You can turn the controller off, if you prefer to do it manually to save battery life over the auto shutdown method, by holding down the PS3 button for a few seconds. I find this is a hassle so I just let it shut off automatically. I haven't found any better way to shut down the controller quickly.

You can unplug the dongle and move it over to a new PC or laptop seamlessly if you are transitioning often between multiple computers. The USB dongle comes out very easily.

I dislike the thumb stick funds because they are very tough to press down compared to the PS3 or Xbox controllers. Granted you don't have to use these keys to press down very often for most controls in gains, it is still slight annoyance compared to the official controllers. They just don't feel as easy to
. All the other buttons are very soft and easy to press. Very comfortable

Battery life can vary from unit to unit depending on the manufacturing date and stores conditions in the warehouse. This is the case for most lithium-ion powered devices. I remember buying a Bluetooth headset that only had five hours battery life, but a second unit of the same model had 11 hours battery life. It recharges with any standard USB wall charger as well as power bank, and also plug into your computer.

battery convert aaa holder to aa

http://www.ebay.com/itm/2-PCS-2-x-AA-Battery-Holder-FREE-SHIPPING-HIGH-QUALITY-/260982132867?pt=LH_DefaultDomain_0&hash=item3cc3bf5083

This is an awesome little device and I used to double the battery life on my BT connect Bluetooth receiver. I was only able to get about six hours on two AAA batteries, but now I'm able to get close to 13 hours on two AA batteries.

If you don't like to shop on eBay, you can get similar devices at RadioShack for two buck. Actually bought mine at RadioShack instead of ebay, which tends to ship straight from China. If something's wrong with it I'm not going to pay to ship it back to China from the United States. RadioShack returns are hasslefree.

What does expires on mean? Is the expiration date on a coupon the last date to use it?

What does expires on mean? Is the expiration date on a coupon the last date to use it?

If a product or coupon says expires on July 4, does that mean it is still good on July 4? Does that mean July 4 is the last day to use it? I have called a few places in regard to their coupons that say expires on, and the receivers have told me that it means the date is the last date to use the coupon. Now I won't be confused by the wording anymore.

If Newegg or TigerDirect has a deal that says expires on July 4, then that deal is good on the last day of July 4. July 4 is the last day to be eligible for that deal. The deal ends on midnight of July 4, because that is when July 5 begins. It ends on the midnight between July 4 and July 5. Check the fine print to see if they specify paciofic time or Eastern time. Many TigerDirect deals expire Eastern time, so 11 PM Pacific time would already be too late.

Bill was picking away at his belly button

In the episode of King of the Hill in which Bill was picking away at his belly button with a little bits of bellybutton lint falling out I pictured myself doing that as well. This is the type of man who would pick away at his belly button and sniff his finger afterwards. He also dug out some of the bellybutton lint and then rolled it between his index and found for tactile pleasure.

Let's admit it guys this is something we all do from time to time especially after we haven't taken a shower for a while. At that bill also picks away at his toes and digs away at his toe jam with his fingernail . The odorous musky toenail flavor toe jam is something very spicy with a moist musky sensation. I admit I take pleasure in doing this myself. Sometimes also place my hand between my armpits after having taken a shower for a while and enclose my armpit tightly wrought while rubbing my hand in between to create the warmth friction that will allow some of the sweat particles within my armpit to rub onto the skin of my hand. I then proceeded to take my hand and sniff it all over to enjoy that's spicy aroma of my armpit.

What other areas of the body heavy sniffed? We all enjoy our own body odors that is the way nature made it. It is a form of Bonnie mechanisms so that when we rub off on another individual we can identify our own body odor on them. We have lost the sense of smell over the past millennia because it hasn't been pressured upon us by evolution. It is also important for identifying our own family members and offspring. That is why when you touch a baby rat, the mother will be able to identify the foreign smell and proceed to kill the baby rat.

Philippines brand dried coconuts that tasted rancid, like plastic

I came home from Costco today with the back of Philippines brand dried coconuts that tasted rancid, like plastic or like oil that's been sitting out in the air in the sun for too long. You could immediately tell that something was not right from the smell after opening the bag. It literally smelled like plastic fumes. I've bought two bags of these before, about two months ago and four months ago from different batches with different expiration dates and both those bags tasted delicious. But this third bag tasted disgusting. I took a few bites and then had my mom tried as well and she said yeah something was definitely wrong with them. It felt like you were eating pieces of tried rubber plastic.

I checked the tiny little plastic packet which helps to absorb moisture. It's packaging was sound without any sign of leaking.

I think the culprit could have been that they doused the coconuts too much in antifungal preservatives. That's the only explanation I can think of because the texture of the coconuts were very chewy and fresh, but the taste was utterly disgusting. I will return this promptly and notify them of the strange taste. I hope the customer service rep doesn't just throw the back away instead and takes initiative to inform the manager and eventually the company who manufactures this product.

WNC 1500 wireless headset can be used while recharging

I just confirmed with a email customer service representative from Andrea Electronics that the WNC 1500 wireless headset can be used while recharging plugged in via the USB cable.

I was initially confused because I found to pamphlets on their website one stating that the unit cannot be used while charging and the other one stating the opposite. The customer service representative replied to me saying that this was a mistake on their part and replace the faulty pamphlet with the correct one.
A word of caution however as I did go on the Internet to search for the precautions of charging while using lithium-ion batteries. I didn't find anyone saying that this will for sure damage the batteries, but there is the issue of excess heat caused by the simultaneous charging in using and lithium-ion batteries do not like excess heat which will shorten the lifespan of the battery. Other than that I didn't find any precautions warnings against using the battery while charging.

the H600 works surprisingly well in our testing, but does not have the same level of noise rejection as the WNC-1500

things that I dislike about the Asus 144 Hz monitor VGA 248 QE:

http://hardforum.com/showthread.php?t=1734114&page=72
http://www.overclock.net/t/1339384/zero-motion-blur-lcd-nvidia-lightboost-hack-looks-like-crt-looks-like-480hz/1000_50

This is some things that I dislike about the Asus 144 Hz monitor VGA 248 QE:

Sharpness can only be adjusted in increments of 10% from 0 to 100. Fine control over sharpness allows me to adjust my text to the exact level of crispness that I enjoy. My eyes are very prone to stress when reading.

The matte coating is a bit too heavy. Not as heavy as on my Acer H203, but I wish the matte coating could be lighter. I don't want completely glossy because that for my experience is not comfortable.

These are the things I liked about the monitor:

The adjustable base is superb. You can take off this monitor and replaced it with any other vesa mountable monitor very easily. Other brands like Dell have proprietary attachments. Kudos to Asus. You can even rotate the monitor counterclockwise by just a little bit so that in case your base is level on your desk in either direction, you can be assured that your monitor will always be level.

The light boost 2-D hack found on the blur busters block is really amazing especially for shooters. I can get head shots left and right with my M3 shotgun in counterstrike source. There is no input lag that I noticed even in light boost mode.

Maybe us AMD owners should pass on this monitor and be vocal about it, to encourage Asus to come out with a universal strobing backlight 144 Hz monitor that's not restricted to Nvidia light boost.

FedEx Ground tracking

I'm not that familiar with Fedex but sometimes with USPS it will stay at "accepted" at the location of shipping all the way until the day after it is delivered, and then it will be updated with all of the stops and the delivery. I would call tomorrow anyway and ask, it couldn't hurt.
Are you talking about FedEx Ground? Ground is different from Express (overnite) and is slower. If you order something from an online company it might take a couple days to get into FedEx's systems and that's when you'll see the "enroute" info on tracking. Some companies will consider an item "shipped' when they load it onto a trailer, but FedEx doesn't consider it shipped until they pick up the trailer and scan it. That can be a descrepancy of a couple days.

Also, FedEx Ground doesn't run on Saturdays and Sundays so no scans will update on the weekends.

It's FedEx ground, the package does not go through any sort facilities as it's being transported on a tractor trailer. There is no way to update the tracking while it's on a truck and it's updated when it arrives at a facility close to it's delivery destination where it's sorted and scanned for tracking updates.

The status changes to "In Transit" as soon as they load the package onto an outgoing truck.

It will change it's status when they scan the package as they take it off of the truck at another terminal or when they deliver it to your door.

use while charging Li Ion batteries

http://talk.maemo.org/archive/index.php/t-6582.html
You can use it while charging. The battery doesn't have memory.

A lot of sources advise for LiIon batteries to let them go through a couple of complete charges/deep discharges the first time. It's claimed to help maximize the battery capacity.

I've been careful to use my laptop off the charger almost every day (i.e. avoiding keeping it at 100% all the time, particularly when warm), and it's only in the third year that the capacity has started to drop a bit (I used to get 5 hours active hacking capacity, now it's more like 4 1/3). The old battery, on the other hand, completely died within a year after being kept 100% charged all the time. However, I try to avoid deep-discharging the laptop. In my experience that'll kill capacity quickly (I did it once with my phone and it's never been the same after that).

http://www.amazon.com/gp/help/customer/forums/kindleqna?ie=UTF8&cdForum=Fx1GLDPZMNR1X53&cdThread=Tx2SQC7FMI4IGB8

The reason you're warned not to use a device while it's charging is that the battery drain you're imposing with use may overcome the charge being supplied by the charger. If that's the case, the net effect is that your battery will continue to discharge. The reason some devices overheat in this case is that a faulty design (or faulty unit) tries to compensate for the drain by drawing more current from the charger. (Shouldn't cause the device to overheat but it sometimes happens.)

As far as the KF is concerned, the same logic applies. Using the device while charging will lengthen the time it takes to charge or if the charger is not supplying sufficient charge, you may find that it doesn't charge at all. But there are other reasons not to use the KF while charging, too.

First, the battery monitoring software in your KF may look like a "fuel gauge," but it's not. There is no way to accurately estimate the amount of charge remaining in a lithium ion battery. Instead, the estimate of remaining charge is based on the current available at any particular time. This current diminishes as the battery discharges and the "profile" of that reduced power is used to estimate the battery charge remaining.

If you charge the battery while using the device, the "profile" can get out whack, yielding an incorrect "profile" and in extreme cases making the KF believe it's fully charged when it isn't or vice versa. This is a bad thing and can lead to all sorts of unpredictable behavior including freezing, shutting down with battery charge remaining, etc.

lithium-ion batteries, etc

With NiCd and NiMH batteries, charging can be tricky. You must be careful not to overcharge them, as this could lead to decreased capacity. To prevent this from happening, some chargers switch to a trickle charge or simply shut off when charging is complete. NiCd and NiMH batteries also must be reconditioned, meaning you should completely discharge and recharge them again every once in a while to minimize any loss in capacity. LiOn batteries, on the other hand, have sophisticated chargers that prevent overcharging and never need to be reconditioned.

andrea questions: WARNING: Do not attempt to charge the WNC-1500 with anything other than the USB charger cable provided.

Remove the top cover of your Bluetooth Headset. Cut remove the old battery. Solder back the new battery and cap back the cover. Make sure you charge your Bluetooth headset at least 8 hours the first 2-3 times after draining the power out each time.
Battery will take around 2 or 3 full 8 hours cycle charges to reach optimum performance.

There is one exception. Battery experts suggest that after 30 charges, you should allow lithium-ion batteries to almost completely discharge. Continuous partial discharges create a condition called digital memory, decreasing the accuracy of the device’s power gauge. So let the battery discharge to the cut-off point and then recharge. The power gauge will be recalibrated.I’ve always had an extra battery for my notebook, but it would never last as long as the original battery. I know now that it’s because I was storing the battery fully charged. That means oxidation of lithium-ion is at its highest rate.
The problem with using your notebook computer as a desktop with the battery installed is that the battery remains at full charge and at a relatively high temperature (when the notebook computer is running.)
With Li-ion batteries, you *might*
experience a *slight* shortening of the battery life since these guys like
high charging currents,
It's always possible to overcharge a battery. That's why there's an indicator telling you that charging is complete. Always unplug asap when you see this.
High temps when at full charge is detrimental to Lithium Ion batteries. That is why some notebook computers can be set to charge the battery to 50% or so instead of 100% so that if used as a desktop and plugged in all the time the battery doesn't isn't sitting at 100% all the time.

Charging when your battery reaches about 50% with an occational full discharge should help prolong the life of Lithium Ion cells. 50% charge cycles stress the batteries less than 100% cycles.

NiMH batteries self discharge about 1% per day so if used in a low energy consummation or stand-by device the battery will only last about 90 days before requiring recharge.

In order to prolong battery life the WNC-1500 was designed to go into sleep mode after ten minutes of non use. To wake the device press the power button on the headset once.

The Jabra GO 6430 supports both wideband and narrowband audio. Wideband audio offers better sound quality
at a reduced battery time.

I was just getting ready to post how much I like the WNC-1500. It is phenomenally accurate. And it holds a charge all day for me. And I do a lot of dictating.

Andrea W NC 1500 questions and details

Hi I have some questions regarding the WNC 1500. I would very much appreciate to have the answers.
Is the battery in the W NC 1500 lithium-ion or NIMH? I've had a expert headset salesman tell me that it's NIMH, and I need to confirm if this is true or not?

W NC 1500. It is stated that this headset can be used while it is charging. In this case, is the battery still being drained while it is being charged at the same time? Or is the headset being powered find a USB cable and not training any power from the battery?
I'm asking because I fear using the headset while charging might harm the batteries.

Also, the pamphlet states that the headset should not be charged with anything other than the provided USB power cable. I have many USB chargers lying around, some for cell phones. Could some of these be safe to use?

I don't want to shorten the lifespan of my battery and hope to get the longest lifetime but if this headset.

Can this headset be used on Ubuntu systems? Especially Ubuntu 12.04. I know it is not officially stated that Linux is supported, but have any of you guys over at Andrea tested this on Ubuntu or heard of any customers successfully using this on Ubuntu?
In addition to the headset drivers, I am also asking  if the audio commander software is compatible with Linux Ubuntu.

Okay here's the update. According to Andrea sales rep that I emailed, the headset can be used while charging. Now they have removed the incorrect pamphlet and replaced it with an accurate one:
I am sorry for the mix up.  Yes, the WNC-1500 can be used while charging.  The pub that is on the support console is out of date and will be updated to reflect that it can be used while charging.  Please let me know if I can help you with any thing else.  Have a good day.

eat sugar headache afterwards!

The last condition that needs to be mentioned is reactive hypoglycemia. This is a very complex metabolic condition which was considered a psycho-somatic condition 15 years ago, but has recently been found to have an endocrine basis. Dysfunctional release of insulin, and its anatgonist, glucagon, appear to account for the rapid drop in blood sugar which promotes the headache. The drop is triggered by eating refined sugars or alcohol, even wine. Avoiding sweetened drinks, orange juice, candy bars, liquor, etc. is likely to prevent these responses. Substituting complex carbohydrates such as honey, or using artificial sweeteners are common avoidance solutions. Another symptom that commonly goes with reactive hypoglycemia is a sense of internal jitteryness, or even tremor that is relieved by eating. The real answer to this condition remains to be found, but I have treated many women successfully by having them eat a half-dozen almonds, or other nuts (gotta be careful to not get too many calories from this) in anticipation of the symptoms, say 2-3 hours after a meal. This provides protein that stabilizes the blood sugar levels. I have long recognized that eating small amounts of food frequently, rather than large meals, is another way to reduce such events.

Westinghouse 32 inch edge lit LED pc monitor

Westinghouse 32 inch edge lit LED the 2012 model that I bought at Costco for only $200 is a 720 pizza but it works amazingly well as a PC monitor when I said about 5 feet away. I don't notice any pixelation because of the distance and was the sharpness adjustment I can really see the text extremely clearly a like any other TVs even high-end Samsung 1080 P 32 inch TVs aren't as good as this TV when viewing text at 1366 resolution.

Initially I didn't expect this from such a low and said, but I think it's a combination of the panel type which looks like a VA, the pixel layout, which is horizontal rather than vertical, and the very smooth AG coating that makes text look really crisp on this set. I almost wanted to return it for a 1080 P Samsung because I thought it must be better if it Samsung and 1080 P, but when I actually went to the store to plug in my laptop HDMI to the Sansone and compared it with the Westinghouse I noticed how much better and sharper the Westinghouse was. Much less eyestrain. I compared the Westinghouse with other brands to such as video and Panasonic and for a 32 inch nothing has been this Westinghouse so far the model number starts with UW

The newest lineup from Westinghouse is backwards rather than edge lit and I wonder how well these new models will work as a text viewing PC monitor. One of the reasons my set work so well is because there is no PWM flicker because the edge lighting is always set to full and when set to full it isn't very bright so I can view this in a dim room without the lights overpowering my eyes. However the new backlit sets from Westinghouse might be too bright and if you need to tone down the brightness to the backlight setting, then you will get PWM flicker I assume.

Also something I've noticed with backlit sets since all the other TVs I tested were backlit is that some of them have a thin you a affect where the center of the TV is brighter than the outer edges. This causes me eyestrain as well because the shift in brightness from center decides somehow causes my eyes to interpret it as flickering.

So I'm thinking this UW series Westinghouse 32 inch might be a rare gem that I got lucky to find but I'm also afraid that it will break soon since I use it upwards of eight hours a day as a PC monitor. And in the future if I send it in for warranty they might not repair it and just send me a new unit that isn't the same as this unit because they ran out of this model in the future. Now I'm trying to find information on the Internet about how to maintain a TV to prolong its life span.

So is anyone deciphered how the panel lottery works and coordinates with the numbers on the box stickers on the sets? looks like all we hav now are the mexico feb 2013 with the same numbers AUSyLJM

from older post:

"manufactured February of 2013 in Mexico. Model ends in UB-AUSJLJM <---i think thats a typo??? should be Y not J

I tested the screen by applying light pressure with a cloth on the screen surface, and noticed the usual response VA panels have. A light circle with a geometric pattern appears at point of contact, and moving the point of contact leaves a trail that takes time to fade. I am now almost positive this is a VA panel. Now to find out what type of VA panel it is and who manufactured it."

"I have returned! I think the demo 32" Best Buy had isn't an ips. It has the VA panel quality when you press on it, it leaves a trail when you move it just as you said Tralfamadore:

The viewing angles are also like a VA. Doesn't look as good when you're viewing from the side. bucknuts it's the same as your panel man, so one of us is wrong about the ub.ausyljm being ips or not:"

"I honestly have no complaints about this being a VA panel. This is the first VA panel I have encountered that had decent pixel response, and didn't smear the darker shades. The overdrive handled the GTG response so well, I was initially tricked into believing it must be a IPS. "

"am only disappointed that it looks like these TV's having IPS panels were a pipe-dream."

"The LG doesn't have any motion blur at all and I've been playing a lot of games lately so the LG is probably the one I'm gonna keep."

" It's almost like LG purposely picked a VA panel and tried to make it seem like an IPS screen."

"Its IPS. The viewing angle doesn't cause inverted coloring at extreme angles and Black Levels seem average compared to a VA panel. But motion doesn't suffer as with VA. Also, if you're using it as a PC monitor, remember to rename the HDMI input label to "PC" to eliminate blurry text.
"

seems like maybe the feb 2013 mexico version is a really good ips-like VA panel? or it IS an ips. people think its VA because of the finger pressing on panel test, but i wonder how accurate that is. but motion blur is IPS qulity so might as well treat it like an IPS even if it is VA

I actually ran out of copies of CS as I promised to send the remaining few I had to a couple reddit guys already. I'm in a pretty bad financial situation right now and I can't even afford to buy a new copy so It'll have to wait till things get better with my bank account. If you msg me on twitter in a month or two, hopefully I might be able to send something (other than pocket lint) to you..

How did you manage to live all those years while you were developing TI?
tough one as there's so many skills that I find useful. It really depends on your role in the game development process. For a game designer like yourself. It's really important to understand all aspects of game development, from the content creation process, to the programming side. Having a working knowledge of how these processes operate and how they integrate with each other is crucial to being able to design a game properly. Also, it will do wonders of gaining the trust of your artists/programmers that you're working with. I find most artists/programmers have more respect for a game designer who can understand all aspects of game development. Game design is a very commutative process and involves working closely with all members of the team, so it requires a great deal of organization, and being able to look at the bigger picture as well. You need to know who your target audience is, and design your game around that and try not to fall into the trap of designing a game that will please everyone.

s, make sure you do what you do for the love of doing it. Don't think about the end goal. Think about the happiness it brings you on a day to day basis. If you really love making games, you need not care about where it will take you. Try to focus on delivering a product that will make yourself happy first.. and chances are, you'll make someone else happy with that product.
If you want to get started in making games, it's not an easy road as there's sooo much information out there and it's hard to decide where to look. I do recommend game schools as they're a very focus place where you can hone your skills in a very efficient manner. If you're really daring you can pick up a book from your bookstore and try some of the tutorials in those books.
The important part is to take it step by step and find enjoyment in the smaller accomplishments you make. It took me 2 months to make my first model and that was the stepping stone to making my first mod (which eventually took another 2 years). I never would have made it that far if I wasn't so thrilled about the process of making models and making those models come to life through programming.

. I know there were moments of great joy and happiness.. Oh wait, here's an interesting thing. Back in the early 2000s, there was a huge amount of money being thrown around the internet and more specifically towards internet advertising. Our CS website was getting a huge amount of traffic and was generating a considerable amount of money each month just through ad revenues. I remember looking at the cheques each month and thinking, "Should we be getting this much!?!? I feel like I'm mugging an old lady... stealing from a baby...". I felt a bit ashamed and dirty making that much money just through ad revenues... but I was able to comfort myself by buying gold jewelery and driving around town in my suped up Honda Civic.
TI: interesting experiences..hmmm.. god, too many to list.. Let's just say, when I'm done working on TI, I could easily qualify working at a mental institution.

No regrets whatsoever. Valve did A LOT to bring CS to where it is. They took a fairly rough game and polished it up and put in the marketing and promotion to make it a household name. No way in hell could CS become what it is today without their strength.
I have great memories of working at Valve and they gave me a great opportunity which I wasn't able to fully utilize.

Why would you ever quit Valve? Seriously, what was the cause for your departure from Valve? I think Counter-Strike would be a much better franchise if you were still around.
My head wasn't right and I didn't have the courage or conviction to be a leader in a company full of talented people. It's a decision that I sometimes look back on and wonder if things would have been better for me and/or for Valve if I stayed but I try not to dwell on it too much as I feel I made the best decision I could at the time, so I have no regrets about it.

No expectations for CS. It was just a mod that started out as something I felt like I wanted to do after working on similar mods in the past. I'm really happy with how CS has evolved and all of that is due to how Valve has taken it. They're a really great company that makes smart business decisions that appeal to the target audience.
I think CSS and CSGO are an indication of that smart decision making.

Any tips on how to make games? Or to become as famous as you?
Yes, make sure you do what you do for the love of doing it. Don't think about the end goal. Think about the happiness it brings you on a day to day basis. hahha.. that's a great question. I manage to live by living with my parents. It's pathetic but it's a great way to save money :)

 4) I think anything is worth the time and effort to get into if you truly love what you're doing. I do admit there are times where I feel burnt out and want to take a break from the industry but these moments don't last long and I usually regain the urge to get back to work when I see other cool games being developed.

Gabe is a great thinker and someone who's not afraid to take chances. I really fortunate that I was able to work under him. Yes, he's a very amicable person in real life in spite of the fact that he has a room full of knives...

water floss

waterpik too high pressure wear away erode enamel. set to 3 soft setting.

portable older version too strong even with blue tip. fred meyer 6month return on this. can be used to clean things like tall pots and vitamix. very useful for that actually.

let battery drain all the way before recharging. this isn't li-ion.
asus vg248qe. matte coating not as bad as acer h203h. hard to remove acer h203h coating because so thick hard for water to soak thro. hoping asus is easier.

newegg open box no problems except weird white 2 inch flicker lines on bottom right corner in lightboost mode. can't notice in game but occasionally see it over black desktop background.

stand is amazing. can use on other monitors. 24in TN is too big for desk use. lightboost hack really is amazing. very crt like. better than 144hZ.  but maybe more eyestrain cuz now you contantly focused on center of screen tracking objects. despite smooth, your eyes are focused longer.

font interpolation sucks. sharpness setting helps. none native res text sucks to read. very bright. tough PWM dimmed. use at night in dark room reading text not comfortable.

update: apparently new versions of the qe now aren't easy to remove. vega ripped his polerizor and he's really experienced

returned my que cuz the colors were bad. dont play enough pro fps to justify it. 200 bucks open box perfect condition almost. kind of regret it. wasn't too bad for text reading taking off my glasses and reading upclose with sharpness turned up so i can see white edges around text easier to read that way w/o glasses. relaxing for eyes
